Myles Campbell better known as “CozywiththeCurls” stands in front of The Dream, Lenny S., and Rick Ross on Vh1’s newest music competition show “#SIGNED”, but instead of being judged on his talent and rapping abilities this meeting is about his stage name...
CozywiththeCurls….
What is “CozywiththeCurls?”
The moguls (a term coined by the show to describe the three music execs) can’t seem to understand or agree with the rapper’s stage name. They tell the upcoming rapper that his name wouldn’t be a good first impression or sell well – citing that artist like Jay Z wouldn’t go by a name like that nor would he feature an artist that would.
Yet instill, Cozy stands his ground and defends his name stating that it wasn’t something that he named himself but other people named him due to his laid back, chill, cozy demeanor. A demeanor easily picked up during the show as he raps his way through each episode and elimination rounds, but other than that he seems to keep to himself choosing to focus on winning.

Cozy didn’t sign up for Vh1’s #SIGNED to argue about or even consider changing his name - he had a point to prove musically. When we asked him about the first thing that came to his mind during that pivotal moment in the competition he said, “my name got me this far so why change it now? That’s part of what makes me stand out.”
Cozy had one thing in mind when signing up to do the show, he wanted the world to see him in a different light and to be taken seriously as a rapper and performer. He tells us he wanted the world and his competitors to know that “they will have to get used to me because I am here to stay.” Staying and proving himself is exactly what he did - impressing one mogul in particular, Rick Ross, and ultimately being signed to Rick Ross’s music label MMG. So the next time someone asks Cozy, who or what a CozywiththeCurls is?, he can confidently reply a MMG artist.
The upcoming New Orleans rapper tells Resilient Rav Media he began his career at just 12 years old. He started out by taking advantage of every opportunity to shine that came his way even if it wasn’t music based – citing his experiences doing comedy gigs along with his local music performances. As far as his musical influences - it’s only right that Cozy cites fellow New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne as well as Chris Brown.

Growing up in the music rich city of New Orleans, Cozy believes that he was armed with the musical tools to be different and stand out against his competitors. He describes his rap style as fun, energetic, unique, and organic much like his personality. Cozy even let us into his creative process for when he’s in the studio
– he likes to listen to the beats he’s given and then decides which one fits the feel/mood of the room for that day. After he finds the right beat he vibes to it and freestyles to it - writing down verses that stick and then jumps in the booth to lay it all out. He keeps repeating the process until he finds the right words for the song. -
As far as being apart of MMG and working with Rick Ross, Cozy says his experiences thus far has taught him that, “it’s bigger than rap, it’s more of a brotherhood.” He’s also excited about his future with MMG discussing how he’s ready to create hit singles, albums, and creative music videos. He’s also already prepared for the moments when he’ll be on stage performing in front of millions of his supporters that will be rapping every word of his songs.

Although, he’s still on the come up Cozy already understands that the industry is cut throat and it has shown him that he has to take advantage of every opportunity coming his way. More importantly it’s taught him that he has to believe in himself first and foremost and keep his confidence level high. He’s a firm believer of taking what’s his and owning very ounce of it, all -the - time. There’s no time to slack in Cozy’s world – he’s on his way to the top.
Aside from the music, Cozy just wants to inspire young artist all over the world to fight for what they want – no matter their background nor where they started at. His advice for young artist and creatives’ is to “stay true to yourself. A lot of people may not support you or think you’re not good enough, but you have to believe in yourself when all odds are against you.”

Congratulations with signing to MMG Cozy!
