New York Fashion Week SS17 : Walk Fashion Showcase

Walk was founded in 2009 by Daishawn Franklin and Crystal Bailey, a model and event promoter duo, WALK was created to add to the emerging fashion industry in their hometown of Detroit. WALK averages over 500 women to each casting call and over 2,000 fashion forward show attendees from the metro Detroit area and around the country each year. WALK has hosted shows in Detroit, New York, Milwaukee, Atlanta , Miami and many more cities around the world.

This year I had the pleasure of being the official hostess of WALK's 2017 New York Fashion Week

showcase. I was able to get exclusive behind the scenes footage and interviews with the designers

after their custom frocks hit the big WALK runway.

I chatted with a few of the very talented and creative designers where they talk about their brands, fashion influences, and much more. In fact, many of the designers were not from New York instead they hailed from cities like Atlanta , New Orleans, and Miami - citing their hometowns for much of their brands creative direction.
