With the rise of black women returning back to their natural roots and clearing out the
aisles in the beauty supply store, everyone one is looking for the perfect product and breaking the
bank to do. But it seems like no one is thinking about educating women on how to discover and
use the hundreds of products we purchase. No one besides Myleik Teele, that is. Teele, is the
founder and CEO of curlBOX, a monthly subscription service that sends its members a box full
of full sized natural hair care products straight to their doorstep for an affordable price. Since its inception five years ago CurlBOX has taken off and has become well known in the natural hair community.
Success is something that Myleik Teele knows very well and has worked very hard for. Two words that you won’t find in this hair care entrepreneur’s vocabulary are failure and mistake. She believes that life is about all about learning and developing and last night she shared with us her insights. As the founder of curlBOX, Myleik has a found a way to help women embrace their natural hair texture and navigate the hair care aisle, product by product. On top of that she also has thousands of listeners that tune into her podcast (#mytaughtyou), where she candidly shares important life lessons she has learned the with the hope of inspiring others. Below, you'll find the interview where Myleik details building and growing her brand, beating out the competition, mentorship, and believing in yourself and your abilities. Check it out and be sure to let me know what you think. Do you have any business tips that have changed or shaped your entrepreneurial journey and would be helpful to others?
